A dining room is said to be one of the most important parts of anyone home as it’s the one room where all family and friends gather atleast once a week and spend quality time together. A home would be far more than just incomplete if it was missing dining chairs, just like a car with no wheels. That’s why choosing your furniture for your dining room is no rushing matter, with the huge variety of dining chairs that are now available you’re bound to be spoilt for choice.
Selecting the right type of chairs
Dining chairs are usually without arms, which makes them easy to pull in and out from under the table. Though you could say that dining chairs with arms are more comfortable and more practical if you have young children. Dining chairs with arms can often come with a swivel mechanism, so that you can move around easily whilst sitting or getting up from the table.
Make sure you measure the area thoroughly taking into consideration of the room you will have with the chairs pushed in or out and are you able to get around the table with ease. You may want to even think about the room you’d have when guests are around and do you need more chairs. Once you know how much room you have to work with you should then look out for comfort and majority of dining chairs are available in a range of colours so you’ll be more than likely able to match the theme your after or any other furniture within the room.
Dining chair materials:
You’ll often find that dining chairs include, wood, wrought iron, acrylic chairs, steel
, and aluminium. All of these materials will add to what makes that particular chair different from the rest. Dining chairs can be heavy vintage chairs, or modern delicate chairs that are much lighter to move around. It all depends on the look you are going for within your home as metal dining chairs are also popular with a glass top dining table and vintage wooden chairs are more suitable for wooden table.
Once you’ve found the ideal dining furniture at the correct size for your room, your dining room is then almost complete and ready to have lots of enjoyable meals and conversations with both friends and family sitting together in a comfy but stylish surrounding.

There are a variety of bar stools available on the market to date, which differ in design, style, and material. These types include, brushed steel bar stools, designer modern stools, gas lift bar stools, leather bar stools, plastic bar stools, Retro bar stools, and wooden bar stools. Every type has its own qualities, and you can freely choose from such a huge variety.
However, you must keep important things in mind before buying a bar stool, like the colour scheme, room size, room decoration, and nature of space. Residential and commercial kitchens need different types of bar stools. Depending on the room interior, you can go for a modern or traditional design.
Bar stools common components;
Base
Every stool has different base in terms of design and size, like it is flat, round or conical. However, the main purpose of the base is same and that is to support the structure above. Flat bases are heavy than other types, whereas the conical base includes a rubber ring below, that helps in protecting the floor from scratches, and it also has a hole that holds the gas lift mechanism. On the other hand, the flat base has a felt pad beneath.
Gas lift mechanism
This is located in a hole on the round base, where it is fixed with a solid joint, concealing it with the help of a chrome collar. Whereas, there are bolts in the flat base to hold the hydraulic system and a key is used to fix the bolts tightly. This hydraulic includes two cylinders along with a valve that controls the air flow, and a button is given which you can press to raise or lower the stool.
Footrest
It has different designs, including circular foot rest, square, and triangular. Many footrests also affix directly to the seat like in a coco bar stool type. The footrest activates the hydraulic through a mechanism, depressing the button when it is pulled upwards.
Seat
This is the main part of the stool and it’s affixed to the footrest with the help of bolts and washers, which make it secured. In some designs, the seats come with spacers being placed between the holes and the metal plate over the footrest. This increases the void between, giving an incline to the seat. However, these spacers are only present in a few models.

When we talk about designer furniture, style sometimes seems to overcome the comfort and quality. People love innovation, that’s why the famous furniture houses are more into style than the comfort, and the furniture they develop is called designer furniture. The items are often so stylish that they become the hot cakes and often sell out quick. Designer pieces are not only stylish, but they are new products in terms of forms, shapes, materials and colours. Some famous designers in this category are Charles Eames, Arne Jacobsen, Eero Saarinen, Jean Prouve, Varner Panton, and Philippe Starck
Such furniture is made from high quality material, hence its more likely to be more expensive than your ordinary furniture. Most people think that the innovative furniture is less comfortable, but this is not always true. There are several designers who have made sure that there stylish furniture is also comfortable furniture, just like the Charles Eames dining chairs.
Famous brands are now branching out and making stylish furniture not only for homes, but also for offices. It is available in different forms, from just the single office chair or to a complete set based on one theme. These themes may vary according to the region where the furniture is designed. Some brands have become international, whereas some are famous only in the local markets.
The material used for designer furniture ranges from metal, leather, ABS, even high quality wood. As metal is easy to mould, it’s used in creating different styles and shapes. The Leather is mainly used because it’s comfortable and long-lasting and helps add a decent quality to designer furniture. However, real leather is more expensive than fake leather, so you will find designer furniture using both fake and real leather and the prices being different depending the quality of leather. You should not compromise the quality as you want your furniture to last, and always check the brand name and how well the company has crafted the furniture, but the makers of designer furniture know that people have a budget meaning ‘cheaper’ designer furniture is also made.
Another reason for the cost of the real branded items increase with time, is it will be a good investment for you, because designer furniture is made to last you could always sell it on when you are thinking of a change.

There are several materials that are used for marquees, they all have some advantages and disadvantages. These materials range from canvas, PVC, PE and laminated PVC.
Advantages of canvas: The material is very durable as its thick, so it’s resistant to tearing. Due to its high strength, people from all over the world use canvas marquees.
Disadvantages: Canvas becomes very heavy when it’s wet, so you cannot lift it easily. It also becomes vulnerable to rots in a damp condition. It will catch fire easily, so you cannot do a barbecue or bonfire under these covers.
Advantages of PE: It is cheaper than the rest of the materials, and perhaps the first ever material that was used to make marquees. Initially, the manufacturers also used it in tarpaulins; moreover its water proof, hence suitable for rainy areas.
Disadvantages: PE is a very light material, so it’s not long-lasting. Moreover, it catches fire easily.
Advantages of Polyester: It is less expensive than other materials, but stronger than PE. However, when it’s coated with PVC it becomes stronger. It’s an excellent waterproof material, and you can also reuse it.
Disadvantage: If polyester becomes messy, you cannot retain its old appearance, because it’s not easy to clean.
Advantages of laminated PVC: It’s also known as Ripstop PVC, and it’s very strong. It can hold the eyelets in a strong way. Laminated PVC is used for larger marquees, which are ideal for professional purpose, as their width ranges from 9 to 30 m. The fabric used ranges from 500 gsm to 900 gsm, however in many hot areas of Europe even thicker fabric is used up to 900 gsm. Different companies develop it using the ‘polyester mesh core’ after some intervals, and that makes it very strong. The laminate coating is added only to maintain its appearance, making it easy to clean, however due to this quality it becomes expensive than the ordinary PVC.
The manufacturers have categorized this material in various ways, as the 500 gsm fabric is called commercial, whereas the 650 gsm fabric is called deluxe. Most professionals in this field are making laminated PVC marquees and that’s why they have earned a good name. But, the type of material you want also depends on your requirements, including the area, climate, number of guests participating in that particular party, and the budget as well.
Disadvantage: Laminated PVC is expensive than other materials, hence the cost of marquees will be high. However, many companies are making affordable marquees.

We cannot imagine our party without a tent whether it’s a rented or bought for long-term use. To keep the party tents in a good condition and last longer, we should clean every part thoroughly and store them properly. With just a few easy steps you can easily prolong your party tents ‘life span’ by just following a certain routine;
Taking care of the poles
Before you store the poles, clean them carefully removing the dust, salt or sand. Also check the aluminium tips; if they are anodized clean them as this they will corrode if left uncleaned. When storing, keep the poles with some space between them, because if they are too close they will break by snapping against each other.
Taking care of zippers
Zippers will last for long if you clean them by removing any unwanted dirt. While pitching, keep the window and the door zippers out of dust. You can easily clean them with a garden hose if you have one available. The zipper could get damaged due to corrosion of its metal slider, and once damaged; the zipper slider will not secure the plastic coils, causing the coils to get separate.
The storage
A cool and dry place is ideal for storing marquees. Don’t be rough with the tents and when packing them up keep them loose, keeping the shock-corded poles separate or assemble them partially. Remember to not store the tent in a dirty condition, as it will get mildew and will damage the waterproof coating, making the marquees more vunerable to damage and could cause the marquees to leak. Once the mildew damages the tent, you cannot repair it. So good storage is key for making your marquee last.
How to clean the tent?
Some people try to wash it in a machine, but that couldn’t be far more from wrong, so wash it in a large tub or even in a clean dry area. Make sure to use cold water as warm water will ruin the marquees and the polyurethane coating. If you want to just clean a few parts instead of the entire tent, then use a sponge soaked in water. Don’t use dishwashing soap, bleach, any washing lotion, or stain remover, as these things will damage the tent material and stain the tent. Be sure to use a non-detergent soap for cleaning the marquues. After you have washed the tent, leave it to dry off in the shade by simply pitching it there. Don’t try to machine dry the tent.
With simple steps and putting the marquees away properly will all help to keep your marquee looking superb and last long keeping your ‘party tent’ perfect for those garden party, whatever the weather especially in the U.K.

The main difference between bar stools and chairs is their height, as stools are mainly bigger than the chairs. Roughly, the height of a dining chair is roughly around 45 cm, whereas the minimum height of a stool is 55 cm.
The second difference is that the dining chairs are fixed, so their height cannot be changed, whereas the bar stools’ height can be adjusted to a certain extent with the help of a gas lift mechanism. Due to this quality stools can be used for various rooms, moreover you can place them around the tables and counters of different heights.
Dining chairs more times than not come with a backrest in the form of various designs, whereas bar stools are mainly backless. You can rest your back on dining chairs, whereas with stools you can move and place your arms on the counter to get relaxed, that’s why stools are perfect for bar or counters.
For both products you’ll find different materials are used to make chairs and bar stools; however the colour range is extensive in chairs than stools. Leather is the most common material used within chairs.
Wood is also another commonly used material to make dining chairs; they are very durable and long-lasting. You can also find stools made primarily by wood , but you could say that they are not as comfortable as the leather type of stools.
Low Budget Bar Stools
Bar stools’ price varies depending on their material and design, there are quite a few cheap bar stools that can be found. Lakeland Furniture has developed low-budget stools which are not only functional but stylish as well without cutting corners on the quality of the product. These stools are available in different materials from faux leather and ABS, with a variety of colours to choose from.
ABS stools are specially designed for crowded areas, because they don’t get stains it makes them perfect for use in commercial kitchens or bars, etc. They are also more economical than other types of stools, and as a plus they are even very comfortable.
No matter what the price you’ll find the majority of bar stools maneuver with a gas lift mechanism, which easily control the height. Similarly, you can also revolve it the way you like. You can find many different styles of bar stools; with or without arms, having 3 or 4 legs. Most stools are developed with a chrome base which is strong and long-lasting, and they are easily cleaned and finish of the design perfectly to add extra style to your kitchen or home.

With so many leather dining chair styles on the market picking the correct one for your can seem like an endless task. In todays post i am going to show some of the main features to look for split into 3 basic areas
- Type of Leather
- Style
- Where to buy
The 4 main types of leather used on the dining chairs will be
- Top grade full leather – Expect to pay £120 plus per chair for good quality leather. The main features that people like are that leather will change with age and it will warm when you sit on it. Disadvantages are that for a dining chair they can easily scratch and can be hard to clean liquid stains off.
- Bonded Leather – these are off cuts of leather that are then glued together before being dyed and a PVC coating being applied. There are no advantages i can see to this material as the PVC coating stops the natural features of leather. Disadvantages are that over time it cracks at the glued joints. In my opinion this is a material to AVOID.
- Bicast Leather – this is a process of combining leather fibres and PU to create the most natural looking Fake leather. The material is perfect for use within dining chairs as is it soft and supple and can be easily cleaned. It does not have the ageing qualities of leather or thickness to the touch.
- PVC Faux Leather – this is the cheapest material that can be used and you get what you will get what you pay for. I have seen these at £25 but they will feel hard and stiff and have a rough texture. They bear no resemblance to real leather in look or touch. They do offer a cheaper hard wearing fabric which can be good for high use placements such as cafes and bars.
The dining chairs come in a vast range of styles. I have picked out three Favorite designs that fall into classic, modern and contemporary ranges.
1. Classic Leather Dining Chair
You can purchase the best priced chairs online but take time to visit a shop and see the difference in materials for yourself first.
