Mould on rattan furniture can be heartbreaking regardless of how long you have had the furniture. As with any item or piece of furniture, it is better to prevent mould growing rather than fixing it later. If you do have mould and mildew on any of your cushions, do not worry it can be treated.

Most cushions can be washed at a temperature of 30C, in a mild detergent or disinfectant. Although the manufacturer’s instructions are the best to follow if these are available.

If washing the cushions does not remove all the mildew, we recommend to follow the steps below.

What you will need:

Small Bowl
Around 2 liters of Luke warm water.
Vanish Stain remover (you can find this here)
White Wine Vinegar.

How to remove mould and mildew

1.Fill a bucked with Luke warm water.
2.Add 1 half a cup of Vanish Stain remover and 1 half cup of white wine vinegar.
3.Mix until fully dissolved
4.Scrub the mould gently with a scrub brush.
5.Remove the covers from the cushion and machine wash as normal.
If this does not work you may need to use a higher concentrated solution of Vanish. Soak the area prior to scrubbing.
