1. Remove the wheels (casters):
   Turn the chair upside down and pull the wheels out of the base. They usually pop out with a firm tug, but a flathead screwdriver can help if they’re stuck.

2. Detach the seat from the base:
   Use a spanner or Allen key (often provided with the chair) to unscrew the bolts under the seat. This separates the seat and backrest from the gas lift and base.

3. Remove the gas lift (piston):
   This part can be tricky. Tap around the base of the gas lift with a rubber mallet while pulling gently. If it won’t budge, you might need a wrench or a special gas lift removal tool.

4. Take apart the base:
   The star-shaped base can usually be lifted straight off once the gas lift is out.

Tip: Keep all screws and parts in a small container so you don’t lose anything. If you're planning to reuse or sell the chair, disassemble gently to avoid damage.
