How to repair broken strands of synthetic rattan on my garden furniture

Repair rattan furniture easily with our guide.

Strands on both top grade synthetic rattan furniture, such as our rattan dining sets, should not break easily or frequently. In contrast, some lower grade synthetic products are made from cheaper materials. These can occasionally snap, especially if left out in a harsh winter.

In the eventuality that a strand does snap, there are some simple steps to resolve this. ** We recommend you carry out this repair in a well-ventilated area, preferably outside. **

How to repair Rattan Strands

1. Take some epoxy resin, you can buy this here.

2. Take a small amount of the Epoxy Resin and cover the break of the strand.

3. Sculpt the epoxy using a small took to look similar to the surrounding weave.

4. Leave to harden for at least 48 hours.

Finally you can then paint or dye to resin to match the colour of the surrounding weave.   If you are not comfortable with working with epoxy resin, view this tutorial to fixing rattan below.
